M.A in Education, B.S in Biology and Psychology

This website serves as my Portfolio that showcases my teaching philosophy, research I have done and my experience as an Educator. I have also included my Resume and projects I have completed during my Master’s Program at Azusa Pacific University.

A Little About Me

I originally went into education because of my love for Anatomy. I found it absolutely fascinating to learn about how the body works and all the components that go into having a working, able body. I wanted to transfer that love and interest onto my students and hope to inspire them to not only tolerate school but to enjoy learning.

School can be a lot to juggle, and I am no stranger to a busy schedule because I was a College Athlete. I received a full ride scholarship to play soccer in San Antonio, Tx. Most of my days consisted of practice for 3-4 hours, class for another 5-6 hours and late nights of homework. However, I still managed to find the beauty in a busy schedule and had amazing professors that were so helpful along the way. My goal is to also have a long lasting positive affect on my students, just like my professors had on me.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is quite simple, my aim is to show students learning is a fun adventure. I went into education because of my love and interest for Science. While doing my student teaching I really wanted my love for learning and Science to transfer onto the students. As educators we have the ability to make or break our students view of education. Labs, group work and interactive learning activities can create an exciting learning space for our students to thrive. My goal for my students is to not only grow academically but to grow as individuals. Most of my class periods consist of group work to promote a safe learning environment and encourage the students to build relationships with each other while they learn about everything Biology has to offer.
